Debunking the Book of Enoch

The so-called Book of Enoch is a favorite among those Ufologists that try with all their might to connect the bible with theories of hybridization particularly of
‘Giant’ hybrids that resulted from a sexual union between ‘angels’ and human women. Since the bible makes no such claim it is with good reason that this
book was not included in the Canon of scripture. Read the articles,
Nephilim-Giants and Iron & Clay for a Biblical understanding of who the Biblical giants
really were and to confirm that the Bible states that hybridization through sexual union is an impossibility. However to give Biblical authenticity to their claims
of such hybrid offspring and other UFO related theories the authorship of this book is generally attributed to the Biblical patriarch Enoch who was born after
700 years after Adam and lived 365 years before being ‘translated’ by God to heaven. The purpose of this article is to prove that whoever wrote this book it
could not possibly have been the Biblical Enoch. First of all there are too many doctrinal claims in this book that are entirely contradictory to the Bible.
Secondly this author of this book cites historical facts and geographical locations that the Biblical Enoch could not possibly have had access to in his lifetime.
This book was in al likelihood ‘reverse engineered’ and poorly at that. The author had to have had knowledge of both the Old and New Testaments and the
earliest this book could have been written would have been in the 1st century AD, nearly 3000 years after the Biblical Enoch left the Earth. There are at
least 3 books that have supposedly been authored by the Biblical Enoch and as a matter of fact there are hundreds if not thousands of writings classified as
‘Pseudepigraphical’ meaning ‘False Title’. They are classified as false titles because the authorship of the books is attributed to Biblical of historical
characters when in fact these Biblical or historical figures had nothing to do with the authorship of such books. The books of Enoch are prime examples of
such Pseudepigraphical’ writings and it is not without reason that they are called ‘false titles.’ This article will deal only with the most famous of the three
Enoch books titled Enoch 1.

If the patriarch Enoch actually wrote the book of Enoch it would be the oldest book of the bible and would predate the book of Job by a full 1000 years. It
would probable also make it the oldest book in the world predating even the Sumerian tablet writings. So how did this book survive since nothing else seems
to have survived the flood of Noah?  The only way for it to have survived would have been for Noah to have preserved it in the ark and for his descendants
to have continued this work of preservation of the book. However there is no Biblical record of Enoch ever writing such a book or Noah taking it in the ark
with him and then passing it on to his sons.

And what language would Enoch have written the book in? If he wrote it then it would have to have been written in the original language of man and in none
of the now known languages not even the ancient ones, certainly not Hebrew which is not an ancient language as far as languages go. From Adam until the
tower of Babel which was built about 100 years after the flood the Earth was of one language which is the only language that Enoch would have known and
could possibly have used to write his book. However after the tower of Babel this language was ‘confounded’ meaning it was corrupted and man could no
longer communicate in this pure language. The question then becomes is that even if the book had existed it would have been written in a language that it
had become impossible for anyone on Earth to understand. So how did this book manage to survive two of the most catastrophic events that have ever
occurred on Earth? The first being the flood of Noah from nothing of that world seems to have survived and secondly the corruption of the original pure
language without the knowledge of which it would be impossible to understand this book if indeed it had been written by the patriarch Enoch. My personal
opinion is that no writing from the pre-flood days has survived and we probably do not even know what that alphabet might have looked like. Sumerian
tablets that are from the post flood era have survived because they were written on clay. However I am of the opinion that the pre-flood civilization was far
too advanced to have written on tablets, at the very least they must have used paper or even more advanced technologies such as computers to keep
written records. Were such a catastrophe like the flood of Noah to befall mankind today all our paper record would vanish instantly as would all our digital
records on computer discs. Even if the discs and computers did survive unless the technology existed to access the information on them they would be
useless to anyone who found them. Outside of the pages of the bible and some oral traditions that have been passed down between various civilizations any
information about the antediluvian world has pretty much been erased from the face of the Earth including their writings.

Jude:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these…
Did Jude quote the book of Enoch? Not necessarily! The exact wording in Jude’s quote of Enoch is that Enoch…prophesied of these. In all likelihood the
prophecies of Enoch were handed down orally and Jude was aware of these from which he quoted but he makes no mention of a book of Enoch. Jude also
relates a story about the body of Moses that is not in the bible or in any other written book that we know of and which he in all likelihood learnt from oral
tradition.  Other books and writings are mentioned in the bible that are not in the bible itself. It does not necessarily put these books or writings on par with
scripture. Even Noah is called a preacher of righteousness even though there is no written record of him preaching to anyone in the OT. So this information
about Noah being a preacher of righteousness came to Peter from oral traditions and it appears that oral traditions existed in Jesus’ days that told of the
history of all the antediluvian patriarchs including Adam, Enoch, Methuselah , Lamech and Noah. These traditions may have been useful for historical
interest but that does put these traditions on par with scripture even if they are quoted in scripture.

Here are examples from both the OT and NT that mention extra biblical writings.
II Chron. 9:29 Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the prophecy
of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer against Jeroboam the son of Nebat?
Titus 1:12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, the Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
There are extra biblical sources that are quoted by Biblical authors, for eg. In II Chron. 9:29 mention is made of the book of Nathan the prophet and also of
the prophecy of Ahijah and the visions of Iddo. Even if this book of Nathan was available today it would not mean that it should be included in the canon of
the bible. The book may be useful to study as history but even though written by a prophet of God it would not be and should not be included in the canon. If
our Sovereign God had determined that this book should have been a part of the canon it would have already been included in it. In Titus 1:12 the apostle
Paul quotes a prophet of Crete – does this mean that Paul was endorsing this man’s prophecies or that they should be included in the bible just because a
biblical author is quoting them?
So just because Jude mentions the name of Enoch means nothing as far as authenticating this book itself is concerned. There also exists a whole body of
works that are attributed to so many biblical characters that it seems that everyone mentioned in the bible must have been a writer. There are at least 14
Biblical Pseudepigraphical writings attributed to a number of biblical figures like the 12 patriarchs of the 12 tribes of Israel, to Solomon, to Isaiah and others.
Enoch himself does not have just one book attributed to him, he has at least three, you can check it out on Wikipedia. So why don’t we just take all books
that are supposedly authored by biblical figures and include them in the bible?

I am of the firm opinion that this book has been reverse engineered that is whoever wrote it had knowledge of both the Old and the New Testament which
would have been impossible in the case of Enoch the biblical patriarch. Rather than Jude quoting from the book of Enoch, the author or authors of this book
of Enoch are quoting from Jude. This has been known and proven to be the case with many of the other Pseudepigraphical writings so why can it not be the
case with this one?

The contents of this book are anti biblical and contradict the bible in numerous places so the author could not have been a ‘man of God’ which Enoch the
patriarch certainly was. This Enoch also seems to have knowledge of geographical places that could not possibly have existed in his time. These things
prove conclusively that whoever wrote this book it could not have been the biblical Enoch who was the great grand father of Noah. Here are several
examples:
BOE Ch. 1: 4 And the eternal God will tread upon the earth, (even) on Mount Sinai, [And appear from His camp] And appear in the strength of His might from
the heaven of heavens.
Zech. 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall
cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall
remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

The BOE claims that Jesus upon his return will land on Mount Sinai whereas the bible clearly and emphatically states in Zech. 14:4 that Jesus will land upon
the Mount of Olives. They both can’t be true so which one will it be? Anyone with even a rudimentary understanding of the bible knows that Mt. Sinai is
associated with the Moses and the law from which Jesus came to free us. Jesus never went to Mt. Sinai but the greatest teaching that Jesus gave his
disciples regarding his return occurred on the Mount of Olives as written in Matthew chapters 24 and 25. So it is logical that he will return to the Mount of
Olives not to Mt. Sinai which he never even went to when he was on Earth.

BOE Ch. 1: 5 And all shall be smitten with fear And the Watchers shall quake, And great fear and trembling shall seize them unto the ends of the earth.

Biblically speaking watchers are not evil as evidenced by J 4:16, D 4:13, 17 and 23 If watchers are servants of God why would they quake with fear?
1.        Jeremiah 4:16 Make ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country, and give out
their voice against the cities of Judah.

2.        Daniel 4:13 I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a
watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;

3.        Daniel 4:17 This matter is by the decree of the
watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may
know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

4.        Daniel 4:23 And whereas the king saw a
watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and
destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it
be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;

BOE Ch. 1:7 And the earth shall be wholly rent in sunder, And all that is upon the earth shall perish, And there shall be a judgement upon all (men).

Jesus will return physically to this very Earth therefore it cannot be rent wholly in sunder. Even amidst all the catastrophes that will occur in the days of the
book of Revelation, the bible does not claim that the Earth will be rent wholly in sunder. Secondly all that is upon the Earth shall not perish. According to
Matt. 24: 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be
shortened.
There will be many who will survive the coming disasters and be alive physically when Jesus returns. Once again the BOE contradicts
information that is in the bible and no prophet of God would ever make such an error.

BOE Ch. 2: 3 Behold the summer and the winter, how the whole earth is filled with water, and clouds and dew and rain lie upon it.
In almost all certainty it did not rain upon the Earth until the days of Noah. The Bible tells us that in the pre-flood days the whole Earth received moisture
from the ground up in the form of a mist, the Earth did not receive moisture from the sky down, this is why the whole Earth had a temperate climate from pole
to pole and this is also why the antediluvian patriarchs had a such a problem with longevity, they lived hundreds of years. This was possible because there
was a canopy of water around the Earth that protected man from harmful radiation and greatly slowed down the deterioration of his body. The whole Earth in
essence was a greenhouse with perfect weather from pole to pole which is why vegetation has been discovered in far north Siberia and other places where
no vegetation exists today.
Gen. 2: 5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it
to rain upon the earth
, and there was not a man to till the ground.  6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of
the ground.

Gen 7:4 For yet seven days, and
I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made
will I destroy from off the face of the earth.
Today if it were to rain for 40 days and 40 nights the Earth would not be covered with water even if it rained
over the whole Earth at the same time. However in the days of Noah the volume of water that was suspended above the Earth was so great that when it
came down it covered even the highest mountains. This is the reason why the land mass of the Earth is so much less than it used to be in the days of Noah.
In those days the land mass was greater than the mass of water covering the face of the Earth but so much water came down from above and beneath that
water now covers 70% of the face of the Earth. In all likelihood Enoch never even saw any rain in his lifetime, Gen. 2:5 tells us that God had not caused it to
rain upon the Earth in those days; that is in the days of Adam, Enoch and the other patriarchs that lived before Noah. However in Gen. 7:4 we are told that
God would cause it to rain upon the Earth, most likely for the first time in the days of Noah and long after the time of Enoch. If Enoch never saw any rain in
his lifetime how could he write about it?

BOE Ch. 6:1 And it came to pass when the children of men had multiplied that in those days were born unto
6:2 them beautiful and comely daughters. And the angels, the children of the heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one another: 'Come, let us
choose us wives from among the children of men 3 and beget us children.'

Gen. 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

The bible tells us that the sons of God saw the daughters of men not angels.  The word angels is mentioned hundreds of times in the bible so in the context
of Gen. 6 if it was true that it was angels that had relations with women then the Bible would have said that the angels saw the daughters of men, that the
angels took themselves wives….but it does not. Angels are not the biblical ‘sons of God’, and sons of God are not angels, period. This is an important topic
and I will come back to it later.

BOE6:7 and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it. And these are the names of their leaders: Samîazâz, their leader, Arâkîba, Râmêêl, Kôkabîêl,
Tâmîêl, Râmîêl, Dânêl, Êzêqêêl, Barâqîjâl, 8 Asâêl, Armârôs, Batârêl, Anânêl, Zaqîêl, Samsâpêêl, Satarêl, Tûrêl, Jômjâêl, Sariêl. These are their chiefs of
tens.

The bible mentions only two angels by name, GABRIEL and MICHAEL, all the other so-called angels and any info about them comes from the mystical
Kabbalistic sects that permeated Judea between the days of Babylonian captivity and the days of Jesus.

BOE Chapter 7
And they 3 became pregnant, and they bare great giants,

Gen 6: 4There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they
bare children to them, the same became
mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

The bible clearly states that the offspring of the sons of God and daughters of men were MEN not GIANTS.

BOE Ch. 7:3 whose height was three thousand ells: Who consumed 4 all the acquisitions of men. And when men could no longer sustain them, the giants
turned against 5 them and devoured mankind. And they began to sin against birds, and beasts, and reptiles, and 6 fish, and to devour one another's flesh,
and drink the blood. Then the earth laid accusation against the lawless ones.
Gen. 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil
continually.
The Bible states that WICKEDNESS OF MAN was great in the earth not that of Giants or angels or the mysterious sons of God.

BOE Ch. 9:1 And then Michael, Uriel, Raphael, and Gabriel looked down from heaven and saw much blood being 2 shed upon the earth, and all lawlessness
being wrought upon the earth. And they said one to another: 'The earth made without inhabitant cries the voice of their cryingst up to the gates of heaven. 3
And now to you, the holy ones of heaven, the souls of men make their suit, saying, "Bring our cause  4 before the Most High."'

1. Uriel and Rapahel are not named in the bible. 2. Gen 6 tells us that God looked down from heaven not the angels. 3. Supplication is made to the holy
ONES of heaven whoever they might be rather than to God. This is the catholic doctrine of PRAYING TO SAINTS rather than to God. The message of the
souls of men requesting SAINTS or HOLY ONES to make petition to God on their behalf sends the message that man cannot communicate directly with God
which a patently anti biblical message. The bible does not teach that we need these so-called saints to intercede for us – the bible clearly tells us that there
is only one intercessor between God and man and that would be Jesus Christ. We do not pray to saints or to angels or to any other creature.

Ch. 10: 1Then said the Most High, the Holy and Great One spake, and sent Uriel to the son of Lamech,
2 and said to him:
'Go to Noah –
Did Enoch know Noah? Enoch lived 365 years on Earth At Age 65 he begets Methuselah Methuselah lives 187 years and begets Lamech – this means
Enoch would be 252 years old Lamech lives 182 years and he begets Noah which would make Enoch 434 years old at Noah’s birth. The problem is that
Enoch had already been removed from the Earth 69 years prior to Noah’s birth so how could he have known Noah? How could he have known anything
about the flood? Moreover Noah himself was 600 years old when the flood came which means that the flood did not actually come a full 669 years after the
days of Enoch.

8 ….And the whole earth has been corrupted 9 through the works that were taught by Azâzêl: to him ascribe all sin.' Going back to Gen. 6
God said that
the WICKEDNESS of MAN
was great in the Earth not that of angels as the so-called Book of Enoch claims. Once again this book tries to justify man when
by ascribing man’s evil to these so-called angels.

BOE Ch. 12: 4 Shows Enoch being asked to pray for ANGELS
together, and they were all afraid, and fear and trembling seized them. And they besought me to draw up a petition for them that they might find forgiveness,
and to read their petition in the presence 5 of the Lord of heaven. There is no precedent in the bible for such intercession by men on behalf of angels. We
are taught to pray for one another not for angels or devils or any other creature.

BOE12:7 requests that they should have forgiveness and length. And I went off and sat down at the waters of Dan, in the land of Dan, to the south of the
west of Hermon: I read their petition till I fell …

LAND of DAN? Dan was the son of Israel and lived about 600 years after the flood of Noah. It was not till about a 1000 years after the flood of Noah that the
nation of Israel came into existence when Moses led the descendants of Israel out of Egypt. One of the 12 tribes of Israel was the tribe of Dan after which a
part of the nation of Israel was named the land of Dan. The question is how did Enoch know this was the land of Dan 1600 years before there was any land
of Dan or the nation of Israel ever came into existence?

BOE Ch. 13:8 And behold a dream came to me, and visions fell down upon me, and I saw visions of chastisement, and a voice came bidding (me) to tell it to
the sons of heaven, and reprimand them.

Once again there is no precedent in the Bible of man having the authority to reprimand angels or other creatures. As a matter of fact Jude tells us not even
to speak evil of non – human powers; that even angels themselves do no take it upon themselves to reprimand these fallen angels.

BOE 13: 10 'Abelsjâîl, which is between Lebanon and Sênêsêr, with their faces covered. This author has geographical knowledge that the patriarch Enoch
could not have had. He mentions ‘Lebabon’ which did not come into existence till a 1000 or more years after Enoch’s time.
BOE Ch. 14:2 with the command of the Holy Great One in that vision. Throughout the OT the title for GOD is LORD God which translates as Jehovah Elohim.
14: 3 He created me also and given me the power of reprimanding – at the present time man has not been given the power for reprimanding angels.

14:5 And from henceforth you shall not ascend into heaven unto all eternity, This too is incorrect because the book of Job which was written a 1000 years
after the BOE was supposedly written tells us that Satan still has access into heaven and the book Revelation tells us the same.

I will conclude at this time because I think that it has been satisfactorily proven that this so-called book of Enoch could not possibly have been written by the
Biblical patriarch Enoch and it is near impossible that it was written prior to the flood of Noah or even prior to the time of Jesus.
