What is conscience? Conscience is the faculty possessed by intelligent beings that allows them to distinguish between good and evil. First of all good and evil have to exist as absolutes or else there can be no good or evil. Secondly, without the knowledge of good and evil it is not possible to have a conscience. Thirdly, a conscience cannot be programmed into living beings, it is acquired through the experience of good and evil; it is a process, a painstakingly slow one and involving pain and death since evil always causes pain and leads to death. The Bible is the story and also the history of both God and man and the ages long process through which the all wise and omnipotent God made possible the near impossible and brought into existence a race of beings that are perfect as He is perfect; the very image of His own character and conscience. The archetype and the First begotten of this race is Jesus Christ.
Do good and evil exist as absolutes? Absolutely! God is absolutely good which means it is impossible for Him to be evil. The Devil on the other hand is absolutely evil which means it is impossible for him to be good. So a creature that is perfect and equal in conscience to God would have to be absolutely good as He is good. Only a creature that is equal in conscience and character to God is worthy of being called the progeny of God and worthy of being the heir to His Kingdom. Looking at the present state of mankind it seems impossible that man of all creatures including angels and the biblical ‘sons of God’ was chosen for this purpose yet he was. Has this purpose been accomplished and if so how was it accomplished? The answer lies in the history of creation and the ages it spans which are as follows:
1. Before the ages: He that inhabits Eternity. God who transcends time and space has existed before there were any ages. This means that GOD and GOOD have forever existed and will forever exist but from whence cometh evil? Evil is not self existent nor did it arise of its own volition. Evil has an origin which means it can and will have an end. 2. Age 1: Time and Space. Gen. 1:1 In the beginning God created the Heaven…; Time and Space begin with the creation of The Heaven (as in The Abode of God.) God as the creator of all things existed before any created thing; therefore God existed before time began and before there was any Space. 3. Age 2: Creation of intelligent life both spirit and flesh. According to Job 38:4-7 the creation of intelligent life predates the creation of the Earth itself. The intelligent spirit beings created in this age are identified in the Bible as ‘angels’ and the flesh and blood beings as the ‘sons of God.’ The sons of God are humans, genetically similar to modern man but spiritually different and not limited to planet Earth. See my article, ‘Who are the ‘sons of God’?’ for a detailed study of these mysterious creatures. The 24 elders that sit around the throne of God are in all likelihood ‘sons of God’, humans that predate Adam who did not join Lucifer in his rebellion against God. 4. Age 3: Creation of the Earth to be ruled by the anointed cherub, Lucifer: The very same Earth that we dwell on today but geographically and meteorologically quite different from what we see today. The Bible tells us that God did not create the Earth in vain but created it to be inhabited. The first inhabitants of the Earth were the morning stars (angels) and sons of God (humans) of Job 38. There were other species created as well to inhabit Earth that would be classified as beasts, some of whom may well have been intelligent such as the beasts that stand around the throne of God as described in the book of Revelation. Intelligent life and all life spread from The Heaven to The Earth and then from Earth to planets in the Solar System and beyond. The cosmos was ruled or rather overseen by angels the most famous and possibly highest ranking member of this class being Lucifer with his headquarters being right here on Earth. This was the golden age of creation with life exploding across the heavens and earths (planets) in an ever expanding universe stretching out into infinity. There was no darkness in the universe and no evil. 5. Age 4: Age of Darkness; Dr. Moreau, Dinosaurs & Star Wars: The knowledge of both Good and evil is required to have a conscience but until the rebellion of Lucifer there was no evil in the universe. Lucifer was probably the highest ranking and the most intelligent of all God’s creatures. Forgetting that His beauty, his knowledge and his intelligence were gifts from his creator; Lucifer became enamored with himself and thus became the original Narcissus. In that age now in the distant past, well before the age of modern man, Lucifer decided that he wanted to be ‘like the most high’ or rather he wanted to be the most high. Thus evil was born in the heart of the light bearer who now became the heart of darkness. Evil had entered the universe (to serve the purposes of God) and now there existed two equal and opposite absolutes whereas prior to that time there had existed only one.
In his bid to dethrone God Lucifer recruited a third of the angels as well as an unknown number of humans, the ‘sons of God’ to his cause. In that age the original mad scientist and geneticist, a Dr. Moreau, Lucifer himself, and his rebel angel companions, mad scientists like him created a vast army of mutants and hybrids right here on Earth and on other planets and galaxies. These hybrids were a cross between different species such as the centaur, part human and part horse. The human component of this particular hybrid was provided by the genes of the humans that then existed, the ‘sons of God.’ The beast component was obviously provided by the genes of a horse. In similar fashion countless other hybrids were created some with 6 arms or two heads, body parts of the same species, some with body parts of various species such as the Sphinx. Many of these hybrids like Ganesha, the elephant headed god of India were and are still worshipped by many cultures as gods. In classical Greek these creatures were identified as demons and biblically speaking these creatures are known as devils. These demons are the disembodied spirits of real flesh and blood creatures that were created back then in laboratories on Earth and beyond. This army of hybrids was most likely meant to be used in Lucifer’s attempted assault on Heaven much as Tolkien’s Orcs in 'The Lord of the Rings' were created to be used as an army to assault Helm’s Deep and Gondor. A common misconception is that devils are the original fallen angels; biblical devils or demons are hybrids (a mixture of the genes of two or more species) and mutants (alteration of the genes of the same species.) the Greek god Pan would be a hybrid whereas the biblical Nephilim or giants would be mutants. The original angels that fell through their rebellion against God are no longer free but have been reserved in ‘chains of everlasting darkness’ against the Day of Judgment according to II Peter and the book of Jude.
The scientific and other knowledge that Lucifer and his companion angels possessed was originally given to them by God their creator. This knowledge may have included the knowledge of the creation of matter including terraformation of planets, stars and galaxies and more importantly the knowledge of genetics. Whereas Lucifer had overseen the spread of life from the Earth into the farthest reaches of space, he now oversaw a project of a different nature. In the bid to be like the most high he became the creator of life forms and species that had not existed in the universe prior to that time; creatures created in his own image. The mutants and hybrids he created may have been an army meant for warfare but they were created using or rather misusing species of humans and beasts that already existed. In the process of time he created an entirely new class of creatures the Reptiles, the most famous members of which class were the dinosaurs or dragons as they have traditionally been known throughout history. These dragons or dinosaurs as they have been called since the 19th century were not dumb beasts as portrayed on The Discovery Channel but were intelligent creatures that were also completely evil even as their creator Lucifer was evil. The chief of these dragons, the spitting image (in character) of Lucifer himself is the creature we know as Satan. Satan, a dragon or serpent, a reptilian creature is Lucifer in the flesh much as Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. The story of Lucifer and his progeny parallels but is opposite to that of God and his progeny Jesus Christ. Lucifer and Satan are one in character yet two persons; one is spirit and the other one flesh even as God and His progeny Jesus Christ are one in character yet two persons, one spirit and one flesh. This age ended with ‘Star Wars’, literally!
George Lucas’ Star Wars movies are loosely based on the history of Lucifer and his transformation from anointed Cherub to the evil emperor. The beginning of the Star Wars movie are correct in the text that reads 'Long long ago…' for these real events did transpire long long ago including the destruction of planets and other heavenly bodies. However Lucas is incorrect is in stating that these events took place in a 'galaxy far far away.' No these events transpired much closer to home, right here on Earth which to this day bears the scars of massive nuclear and other more destructive types of warfare. Those were the days in which even 'death star' type of weaponry might have been used to destroy whole planets which is how the asteroid belt might have come into existence. As evil spread its dark shadow over the cosmos, warfare, death and destruction followed in its path. At the end of this age evil had fully matured and Darkness had descended upon the face of the Earth and possibly across the universe with the exception of The Heaven. All these events transpired before Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. The Earth was neither created void nor was darkness upon its face originally but the darkness descended as a direct result of the events set in motion by Lucifer’s rebellion. Age 5: The Age of Man. Once evil had arisen and reached full maturity the stage was set for the crowning achievement of God’s creation, man to appear on the stage. You will probably look at yourself and those around you and seriously doubt that any of us could be considered the jewel in the crown of God’s creation and this would be partially true. It is not man in his present state who is the apple of God’s eye but rather it is what man has the potential to become, a being with a perfect conscience that made the psalmist pen the following words some 3000 years ago: “What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?” It is not the present evil corruptible selfish, greedy man that God is mindful of but rather those from amongst mankind that will have their consciences purged and in the age to come be made perfect even as their creator is perfect.
